20 June, Tuesday
On our way from Kessel to Berlin on an ICE train (Inter City Express). Trip should take around 3.5 hours. The train is really nice and fast (250 km/hr). Spent yesterday in Kessel with Brian, Rob, and Matt. Jay, Brad, and Ted went to another city to find a youth Hostle. I'm glad we stayed even though Jay was kind of upset when he left and this morning when we arrived at the train station (they had to wait almost 2 hours). Our group is too big. People want to do different things (e.g. some would rather have a nice place to sleep whereas others would rather go out…anyway, who cares. Kessel was pretty cool. There was a castle and a huge park with swans, ducks, peacocks…and an island garden which was very beautiful. On top of the garden you would have a beautiful view fo the park & castle. Around 10pm we met Matt's cousin, Karen, from Sweden. She was really nice, gave us a place to sleep, and showed us around. We went to another castle on a big hill which overlooked the city. Lots of people go up there at night to do whatever. Again, it was really beautiful.
